Where the Class of 2027 stands

Peer planning snapshot, checked August 20, 2026: if you entered with the cohort expected to graduate in 2027 and remained on its standard path, 2026–27 is your final academic year. Northeastern officially describes FlexJD as an 83-credit, four-year program, but this page is not a degree audit and does not establish an individual conferral date. Academic and Student Affairs (ASA) must confirm your remaining terms and requirements.

That makes this the year to close out anything still open, not discover it in the spring. Two things worth checking now, both sourced from the Student Guide's Degree Requirements section:

Professional Responsibility — official degree requirement

NUSL's official degree-requirements page lists Professional Responsibility. The 2025–2028 schedule reproduced in the Student Guide is a dated planning snapshot, not a registration promise. Confirm the live course offering and your audit with ASA.

Upper-Level Rigorous Writing Requirement

NUSL's official public page lists an upper-level rigorous writing requirement. The previously stated final-semester plan and deadline are retained as a needs-review handbook lead because a controlling public rule was not linked here. Verify the current Academic Rules and your individual deadline with ASA.

Co-op & Experiential Requirement

NUSL's current public FlexJD pages describe two experiential terms. If either remains incomplete, ask ASA and the Center for Co-op and Career Development to review your record and approved options; this peer page cannot determine whether an experience qualifies.

Requirement	Detail
First experiential term	One semester-long co-op consisting of a field placement paired with a concurrent reflections seminar. NUSL states that each experiential term requires at least 275 hours during a non-academic semester.
Second experiential term	One additional semester-long practical experience, which may be a co-op, field placement, or approved experiential project. NUSL states that this term also requires at least 275 hours.
Total work-experience hours	Northeastern’s public pages currently conflict on whether the additional relevant-work requirement is 350 or 1,000 hours. Ask Academic and Student Affairs to identify the controlling requirement and any waiver rule for your matriculation cohort.
