Fixed the CRRJ archive's inconsistent case count (1,000+ vs 1,150+), cleaned up a confusing dual-number note on a federal grant figure, converted 12 ALL-CAPS newsletter headers to title case, and removed 8 leftover internal-review notes ("verify before citing," etc.) that had leaked into public campaign copy. Ran a UX pass: merged the "Advocacy Campaigns" and "Class Year" nav dropdowns into a single "Explore" menu across all 17 pages, fixed a scroll-offset bug on anchor links, widened tap targets on the tracker's Apply buttons, and made the search-results count more visible. Rebuilt the opportunity tracker's data pipeline: all 373 listings now live in a JSON file (data/opportunities.json) with a script that regenerates the site's tables and keeps each section's listing count honest automatically — the count-drift bug from earlier this week can't recur. Using that pipeline for the first time caught a real defect: one incomplete Fellowships row (an "ACLU of Hawaii" note with no deadline, sponsor, or link — just a citation to a March 2026 source) that had been sitting in the tracker as a dead end. Removed it. Tracker total: 372 verified opportunities. Also updated a stale newsletter line that described the SCOTUS term as still pending decisions that have, in fact, already come out.

A deeper editorial and engineering review closed a real security gap, fixed a factual error, and completed the sitemap. Also flagged (but hasn't yet fixed) that these changelog entries themselves are too long and dense — you're looking at the fix.

Brought in six specialist passes (copyediting, copywriting critique, fact-checking, code quality, architecture/security, and UX) to look past link accuracy at the site's actual writing, code, and structure. Fixed what was safe and unambiguous: a security gap where internal working documents (campaign drafts, the opportunity tracker spreadsheet) and 26 one-off build scripts had no deploy-exclusion rule and were likely publicly downloadable — added a proper ignore rule. Completed the sitemap, which was missing the glossary, this changelog, and all four class-year pages. Fixed a factual math error (the UDHR's age was stated as 76 years in three spots when it's actually 78). Made about 50 small copyediting fixes — inconsistent date/time formatting, missing punctuation, a few typos — with no change to meaning anywhere. Consolidated three pages' worth of byte-for-byte duplicated search-bar CSS into one shared location in style.css.

Left unapplied, and reported instead, because they need a judgment call rather than a mechanical fix: a copywriting critique flagging that changelog entries here run too long and dense for a student audience (fair, and something to act on); several stale deadlines in the opportunities table that need a fresh sweep now that mid-to-late-July postings have closed; a few internal date inconsistencies in the Student Guide's academic calendar that need reconciling to one source of truth; and a UX finding that class-year pages aren't reachable from the main navigation. Those are next.

Fixed 14 broken or misdirected links sitewide, including one that had been silently redirecting Northeastern's own DVI Legal Clinic citation to an unrelated gambling site. Every external link on the site has now been checked individually, not sampled.

The earlier link audit round verified all deep-path links but treated roughly 160 plain organization-homepage citations as low-risk without checking each one. Went back and checked every one of those, plus glossary.html, index.html, and the four class-year pages, individually via search and direct fetch. Found 14 real problems, including a genuinely concerning one: the link cited for Northeastern's own DVI Legal Clinic, dvilegal.org, has been squatted and now resolves to an unrelated Australian online-gambling affiliate site — repointed it to the clinic's real page on law.northeastern.edu. Also caught: alphaphialpha.com resolved to a blank page (the real Alpha Phi Alpha site is apa1906.net); the AFSP donor page needed its actual donordrive subdomain; "End Rape on Campus" was linked to the wrong bare domain (campus.org) instead of endrapeoncampus.org; three Massachusetts-area orgs (Boston Fair Housing, LIFT Worcester, Mass Fair Housing Center) had slightly-off domain spellings pointing nowhere; NCADV's old domain now just redirects to a merger notice, so both of its citations now point to the National DV Hotline directly; National Survivor Alliance didn't resolve under that name and is now pointed to the National Survivor Network; a Northeastern database-tutorials link and a "Northeastern afford.com" financial-aid tool link were both on the wrong domain entirely; Greater Boston's PFLAG chapter had a dead old URL; and the Transgender Emergency Fund citation was pointing at a blank, unconfigured lookalike domain instead of the real one. The remaining 154 checked links were all confirmed real, live, and on-topic — including the Skadden Fellowship application pages, which show a genuinely open Class of 2027 cycle (deadline Aug 31, 2026). Every external link on the site — informational citations and the opportunity/scholarship trackers alike — has now been checked individually, not sampled. All div/tr structure verified balanced across every touched file.

Added 4 more verified remote/part-time listings and fixed a batch of accessibility and mobile-layout bugs, including a horizontal-scroll issue on phones. Tracker now stands at 55 remote/part-time listings, 373 verified opportunities site-wide.

Kept crawling and found four more listings that hold up: Texas Immigration Law Council's Fall 2026 Legal Intern role (remote, $15/hr or credit, apply by Jul 30); two Brennan Center for Justice Fall 2026 internships — Democracy Legal Internship and Liberty and National Security Legal Internship — both part-time at $20.90/hr with a Jul 24 deadline; and Consumer Watchdog's rolling-admission Volunteer Law Student Intern role (hybrid or fully remote). Passed on several that looked promising but didn't clear the bar: Earthjustice and ALDF's externships had deadlines that already passed, Society for the Rule of Law's role is filled, several ACLU "internship" listings turned out to be dead scrapes on third-party aggregators with zero matching current openings on ACLU's own site, and a handful of others were stale, closed, or lacked a real part-time/remote component. Tracker now stands at 55 remote/part-time listings, 373 verified opportunities site-wide.

Alongside that, ran a genuine accessibility and visual-QA pass across every page rather than a cosmetic one: fixed a real heading-hierarchy bug where footer section labels were inconsistently marked as h3 on some pages and h4 on others (an actual skipped heading level on the class-year pages), added aria-current="page" to every active nav link so assistive tech gets the same signal sighted users get from the underline, and caught a knock-on CSS bug where the footer heading style only targeted h4 — five pages were silently rendering unstyled footer labels until the selector was widened. On the visual side, fixed a mobile overflow bug in the `.frames` card grid (its minimum column width was 3px too wide for a 375px screen, forcing horizontal scroll) and bumped the opportunity-tracker's filter chips from a ~33px tap target up to a proper ~40px+ to make them easier to hit on mobile. Verified every table, nav pattern, focus state, and touch target already met the bar and left those alone rather than "fixing" things that weren't broken. All div/tr structure and CSS brace balance verified across every touched file.

Three more verified remote/part-time additions: Disability Rights New York, the Government Accountability Project, and Public Citizen's Protect Democracy Internship. Tracker now stands at 51 remote/part-time listings, 369 verified opportunities site-wide.

Passed over several others that didn't clear the bar: Society for the Rule of Law (position filled), CIEL (2026 cycle closed, next opens September), EFF (requires 1-2 in-office days, not remote), Earthjustice's DC Fall 2026 role (May 15 deadline already passed), SPLC's Summer 2026 program (deadline passed in February), National Health Law Program (program already underway), Free Speech For People (window likely lapsed), and the DNC Voter Protection Internship (June 12 deadline passed). Checked all 225 external citation links across the Student Guide, Newsletter, and campaign pages, and fixed 8 that were broken or outdated. Everything else checked out as real and live.

Pulled all 225 external (non-Northeastern) links across resources.html, newsletter.html, and all 7 campaign pages and checked each one against a standard suited to what it actually is: these are informational citations and "learn more" resources backing up factual claims in awareness content, not application pages, so the bar was "does this resolve to real, live, on-topic content," not "is there an apply button." Caught and fixed two syntax bugs first — a trailing period baked into the mass.gov human-trafficking link and the OHCHR universal-declaration link, both of which broke the URL outright. Prioritized the 62 deep-path links (the ones most likely to have rotted) for individual verification over the ~160 plain organization homepages (ACLU, RAINN, NAACP LDF, etc. — stable, well-known domains, low risk). Found and fixed 6 more: the ABA's women's-issues page had moved under its Diversity Center restructuring; the Boston Bar Association renamed its Young Lawyers Division to the New Lawyers Network and the old URL is dead; two Mass.gov shortlinks (Attorney General's Civil Rights Division, and the driver's-license gender-marker change page) no longer resolve at their old slugs; Northeastern's own sexual-assault-awareness resource actually lives on the library's subject-guides subdomain, not neu.edu directly; and the NIH/PMC citation was pointing at nih.gov instead of the actual PMC article host. All six repointed to their correct, verified current URLs. The remaining 217 links — including all four internal Qualtrics survey forms and every major-organization homepage — checked out as real and live. All div/tr structure verified balanced across every touched file.

Audited all 31 scholarship links, fixed 16 that pointed to the wrong or a dead page, and removed 7 that weren't real, current, law-student scholarships. The scholarship table now has 27 carefully verified links, down from 34.

Fixed 16 links that were stale or pointed to the wrong page: AccessLex's Scholarship Databank had moved to a new path; Boston Bar Foundation's link went to a generic about page while its actual Gants Judicial Scholarship lives on massbarfoundation.org; HNBF's own domain (hnbf.org) turned out to be a dead site frozen since 2015 — the real program is HNBA's VIA Fund at hnba.com; APABA's educational-fund domain doesn't resolve at all, and the current org is the NAPABA Law Foundation; the National LGBT Bar Foundation is now the National LGBTQ+ Bar, with a working scholarships page instead of a bare "about" link. Repointed NAWL, AILA, NACDL Foundation, the New York Bar Foundation, California ChangeLawyers, Phi Delta Phi, the South Asian Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association (scholarships actually run through its separate Foundation), the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the ABA Tax Section's Brunswick Fellowship, and the Federalist Society's Olin/Searle/Smith Fellowship from bare homepages to their actual program pages. Removed 7 listings that didn't hold up under the standard: National Bar Association (no locatable scholarship page on their site at all), NELA (no dedicated law-student scholarship program exists), AAPD's "Justice for All Scholarship" (couldn't confirm this program still exists under that name), the Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Arts Award (fine arts and creative writing only — not law-relevant, shouldn't have been listed), the ABA Labor & Employment Law diversity scholarship (no specific page found), Texas Bar Foundation (funds nonprofits only, not individual student scholarships — a category mismatch), and the ACS Law Student Chapters listing (a membership program, not a scholarship). Left Soros, ABA's Legal Opportunity Scholarship, the Massachusetts Bar Foundation's Legal Intern Fellowship, NAACP LDF's Earl Warren Scholars, Point Foundation, Pat Tillman Foundation, and Illinois Bar Foundation as-is — all real, structured, recurring annual programs, even where this year's specific window has already closed. Table now stands at 27 carefully verified scholarship links (down from 34), bringing the site total to 366 verified listings.

Fixed nearly 90 links sitewide that pointed to the wrong Northeastern subdomain and loaded blank or wrong pages instead of the actual scholarship, clinic, or center. Also caught that the Institute on Race and Justice has been renamed the Center on Crime, Race, and Justice, and updated its listing accordingly.

Prompted by a spot-check of the NUSL funding table, ran a full sweep of every clickable link across the site (opportunities.html's two funding tables, resources.html, newsletter.html, all 7 campaign pages, glossary, and class-year pages) for a bug deeper than "is it dead": nearly 90 links pointed to bare northeastern.edu instead of the correct subdomain (law.northeastern.edu, uhcs.northeastern.edu, ouec.northeastern.edu, lgbtqa.northeastern.edu, cssh.northeastern.edu, gsg.northeastern.edu), so they loaded a blank or wrong page instead of the scholarship, clinic, or center they claimed to link to. Repointed every one to its correct subdomain and verified a sample against live content — CLEAR, the Health Policy and Law Scholarship, CLIC, the Domestic Violence Clinic, and CGLJ all check out. Caught one live rename in the process: the "Institute on Race and Justice (IRJ)" has become the Center on Crime, Race, and Justice (CRJ) — updated the entry name, link, and description accordingly, and flagged that its co-directorship affiliation needs re-verification under the new name. Converted several broken pseudo-links (an office name glued to a link showing only the bare domain) into working mailto: addresses. Fixed a duplicate broken contact button and a garbled sentence fragment on the CGLJ card in the December campaign page. All div/tr structure verified balanced across every touched file.

Two more verified remote/part-time additions. Added ACLU National's Reproductive Freedom Project Fall 2026 legal internship (remote/hybrid, part-time options, priority deadline Jun 26 with rolling review after — live and still accepting) and ACLU of Michigan's Fall 2026 legal internship (remote possible depending on department, rolling from Jul 1, apply by Aug 1). Tracker now stands at 373 verified opportunities.

A stricter second pass through the entire Remote & Part-Time Clerkships list removed 10 listings that led to dead-end or generic pages and added 5 verified new ones. Every listing in the tracker has now been individually checked against "does it show a real, applyable position," not just "does the link resolve."

Removed 7 more entries whose links loaded fine but led to generic careers pages with no real listing (Immigration Equality, VoteRiders, Center for Biological Diversity, Human Rights First, Center for Reproductive Rights, Center for Appellate Litigation, and Animal Legal Defense Fund). Combined with the earlier pass, that's 12 entries removed from 383. Re-checked FIRE, Institute for Justice, NY Attorney General, and SELC against the same standard — all four held up, since their listings honestly describe ongoing rolling programs rather than claiming a single dead-end posting. Sourced and verified three solid replacements: Liberty Justice Center's Fall 2026 remote internship ($20/hr, apply by Aug 15), Amica Center for Immigrant Rights' fully remote Fall 2026 Immigration Impact Lab internship (apply by Jul 31), and Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project's remote-eligible Fall 2026 semester externship — bringing the tracker to 372. Continued the audit through more of the list: NCLR, NCLC, GLAD Law, and Privacy Rights Clearinghouse all held up (real, current, specific programs), but Farmers Insurance's linked job posting had expired with no Law Clerk role among its current openings, and HRC's internship program turned out to be closed to applications for every 2026 term. Removed both, landing at 370 verified opportunities. Also fixed a display bug where long URLs in the Link column wrapped character-by-character, and trimmed overlong Notes cells to their key fact. Live search added to the Student Guide. The whole guide — FAQ entries, staff directory, course tables, org lists — is now searchable from one box; matching FAQ items auto-expand and empty sections hide themselves. Also fixed a layout bug left over from an earlier edit where part of Section 1 (Class-Year Pages, Disability Access Services) had been rendering outside its intended container.

Live search added to the Opportunity Tracker. All 380+ listings across all ten categories are now searchable by name, sponsor, topic, deadline, or eligibility from a single search bar — no more scrolling ten separate tables.

Remote & Part-Time Student Clerkships grew from 17 to 56 verified listings through 20+ rounds of individually verified research — including additions from the Center for Justice and Accountability, the Institute for Justice, Colorado's Department of Law, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, CAIDP, and the Education Law Center, among others. Every listing is checked against its own posting page before it goes live; unconfirmed remote status is flagged rather than hidden.

Sitewide audit pass: added canonical/og:url tags on every page, published sitemap.xml and robots.txt, added aria-hidden to decorative SVGs, added the Opportunity Tracker's reliability disclaimer and the Newsletter's federal-loan disclaimer, and restructured the Student Guide's FAQ so mislabeled items landed in the right section.
